Lagos Life Food and Cooking
Unofficial guide. Last checked 2026-10-10.
Food is the smallest line in a Lagos Life budget and the one that ends runs fastest when it is ignored. Here is where to eat, what to plan for and what we could not verify.
Where to eat in Lagos Life
| Option | What it is | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Amala Shitta | A named food spot on the map. | Fixing hunger quickly when you are out. |
| Market | Buy food to take home. | Stocking up before a run of shifts. |
| Cooking at home | Reported as an option once you own food. | Cutting the weekly food bill. |
Is cooking at home cheaper than eating out?
Players consistently report that cooking at home costs less per meal than buying at a venue, and that it also nudges the fun need down slower than eating on the go. We have not verified individual recipe costs, and we are not going to publish numbers we cannot check. Compare the price on the shop screen with one shift of your pay.
How much should you budget for food?
Our weekly budget calculator starts from ₦8,000 a week for food and other costs. That is a starting assumption, not a game figure. Adjust it to what you actually spend in your first week, then keep the number honest.
Hunger and your shifts
Hunger does not stop a shift on its own, but low hunger plus low energy does. Eating before a shift is cheaper than losing one. The full priority order is on the six needs page, and the shift mechanics are on how shifts work.
