Lagos Run
Unofficial guide. Last checked 2026-10-10.
Lagos Run is the other half of the story behind Lagos Life. The developer has credited it as an inspiration, and it shares the same city and the same danfo.
What is Lagos Run?
Lagos Run is a Nigerian browser game where you drive a danfo, the yellow minibus that carries most of Lagos, through the city. Like Lagos Life it needs no download and runs on a phone or computer.
How Lagos Run inspired Lagos Life
Shalom Rayhamen, who built Lagos Life, has said she was inspired by The Sims 3 from her childhood and by Lagos Run. That pairing explains a lot about the finished game: a life-simulation loop inside a recognisably Lagos setting. More on who made Lagos Life.
Danfo in both games
In Lagos Run the danfo is the whole game. In Lagos Life it is part of the city: transport you use and a piece of slang you will see everywhere. Our danfo page explains the Lagos Life side.
Which should you play?
| Lagos Run | Lagos Life | |
|---|---|---|
| Core loop | Driving and dodging traffic | Work, needs, rent, shared city |
| Session length | Short, arcade | A shift or a full week |
| Shared with other players | Reported leaderboards | Yes, one shared city |
They are not competitors. Lagos Run is a five-minute game; Lagos Life is a weekly commitment. If you want the simulation, start with how to play Lagos Life.
